·        Enrolment procedure for Japanese tutoring

2025 enrolment is now available!
Please complete the enrolment process available here. If you have any queries, please email wollongongjlc@gmail.com

Once you have submitted the booking form, a confirmation email will be sent to your email address. Information of the confirmation email includes details of the location of the tutoring/story-telling and payment options.

·        Payment method
Cash or bank transfer is available for payment. Payment should be made before the day of the commencement of the first lesson. For cash payment, you may pay on the day before the commencement of the lesson.

·        Lesson structure
Only face-to-face private lessons are available for Japanese tutoring at the Wollongong Japanese Language Centre (WJLC). Japanese for communication, Basic Japanese classes, and Japanese for university students are run for an hour lesson. For HSC students, 1 hour 30 minute-lesson is recommended due to the significant time involved in speaking exam practice. After the HSC speaking exam, you may wish to reduce it to 1 hour-lesson. Please speak with your tutor.

·        Missed class
It is expected that students enrolled in the Wollongong Japanese Language Centre will be committed to attending every lesson. If unexpected circumstances arise, please notify the tutor 24 hours before the lesson. Failure to oblige will incur 100% of the fee for the missed lesson.

·        Withdrawal/deferment of lessons
Notification of withdrawal or defer of lessons must be made in writing (in person or by email) at least one week before your next lesson. Only in this instance will the term’s fees be cancelled. Where notices are received after this date, the full fees are still payable.

·        Other conditions
Siblings or children not enrolled in class cannot attend classes. Under parent/guardian’s supervision, sibling(s) or child(ren) may use the resource room which is located next to the classroom. Children are not permitted to play outside before, during, and/or after lessons for safety reasons.

Books may be borrowed for one month. Please write your child’s name, date of book(s) borrowed, and the title of the book(s) (OR the number given on the front cover of the book) in the notebook provided on the bookshelf. After return, please write the date of return.
